Eight months after launch, Vocial has finally reached the form we envisioned from day one.
We launched with a fairly long feature list—everything we needed to make the product work as a complete social platform. But the app itself is only the part people see. A huge part of the work happened underneath it: building the infrastructure that powers the platform. It was by far the most complex and sensitive part of the project, and we're incredibly proud that we got that foundation right from the very beginning.
We've spent the last eight months refining everything on top of it—polishing the experience, fixing the small things, improving performance, and bringing the product closer and closer to our original vision.
With our latest release, we finally feel like we're there.
Our community is still small, and that's intentional. Until now, our focus hasn't been on promotion or growth. It's been on building, polishing, tightening things up, and getting Vocial to the place we imagined when we started.
When MiSTer FPGA Meets Jellyfin: From Our CRT Tubes to Yours.

We've talked here many times about how big fans we are of the MiSTer FPGA project and everything that makes this incredible piece of hardware so special, especially its analog video output.
At the same time, we're long time Jellyfin users, which is why we decided to build MiSTerFin, a Jellyfin client designed specifically for CRT televisions.
We originally thought it was a very niche project and built it purely for ourselves. But after sharing it on Reddit, we quickly realized there were many more people looking for something like this than we had expected. There are far more people using both MiSTer FPGA and Jellyfin than we imagined, and many of them have been looking for an easy way to enjoy their media libraries on a CRT for years.
I don't need this my use but this is amazing! Well done pulling this off.
This is awesome. I always felt like mister was close to becoming an all in one crt box but it was missing being able to play old movies and tv shows.
1,000 articles couldn't get me to drop Plex for Jellyfin but a single Reddit post did the trick!!!!
I'm the author of Mister Plex .. I'm curious how you are pulling this off from a technical side
No, thank YOU. Please don't make a composite/s-video implementation anytime soon, or I might have to set up even more MiSTers across my CRT collection!
You know what? I'm getting a bigger CRT just to stream "Little House on the Prairie" to it via Jellyfin thanks to you. 😁
Yesssss. Was literally googling today to see if this was possible as wanted to watch Ulysses 31 on my crt
BRB gonna watch Bladerunner 2049 on my Analogue Pocket.
Holy sh*t I wrote about this the other day that someone should port it to Mister!
DUUUUUUUUDE THAT'S RADICAL
Switched the whole house over to jellyfin this year and mister is my fav retrogaming device—excited!
Holy. I need this. I never even thought about this as a possibility.
I need to get an updated analog hat now...
I really want to watch Cowboy Bebop but I really don't want to on a modern TV.
Well this is sick af
As someone who just put a Jellyfin server together this weekend, I f*cking love you.
Finally something will let me retire the PS3 for CRT media.
HOLY CRAP. I wanted this so bad I didn't even hope for it to ever exist.

P.S. Designing a rich UI for a 240p/480i world that feels natural to navigate with a game controller is quite an adventure, and we love every minute of it!

After nearly two years, our portfolio finally gets its first major update.
Pudding wasn't offline—we were just busy building. And looking at everything we've accomplished, the new website finally reflects that.
Over the past two years we've launched four in-house products, built several internal tools, delivered two client projects, and relocated our entire studio to Canada.
Damn, that's a lot.
Behind the scenes, this update is much more than a visual refresh. After years of building and hosting our portfolio on Webflow, we've completely rebuilt it from scratch using Astro, alongside a custom backend and CMS designed specifically for the way we work. Managing future updates, case studies, and new projects is now faster, cleaner, and entirely in our own hands.
See you around.

Our first in-house product is ready for test flight.
After months of work, our first fully in-house product is ready for its test flight. It's a platform we designed and built from scratch — every screen, every interaction, every line of code — and it's become our favourite way to show what Pudding can do end-to-end. We're genuinely excited about this one and we hope you'll be too.

Even though our daily drivers were always iPhones, Windows Mobile felt so good — and way ahead of its time.
I found my Lumia. I used to have a couple of models: the Lumia 900 in 2012 and the 640 XL in 2015. Even though my daily driver was always an iPhone, Windows Mobile felt so good and ahead of its time.

Dropped something #MadeWithSketch and it sparked a lively creative conversation on X
For the purposes of a personal project, we created a custom icon set (shown above). It's no secret that here at Pudding Studio, we're big fans of the Sketch app — and these little icons were made right there in it. We shared them on X and decided to include the hashtag #MadeWithSketch as a way to show some love and appreciation for our favorite design tool. That hashtag definitely sparked an interesting conversation.

There was something about Adobe's icons in the '90s.
At Pudding, we really miss the classic Adobe icons, so we "remastered" Photoshop's iconic one to see it again (here in our studio) on our docks. Do you think we should continue this with other apps from the Creative Suite?
New site is online.

4:3 Stack. Everyone's favourite spot in our cozy studio.
Playing games from the 80s and 90s is easily achievable these days, thanks to official game ports to modern systems, virtual consoles, emulators, and various other methods. However, these games were not originally designed for modern screens, aspect ratios, refresh rates, and input latencies. To recapture the magic of weekend mornings from the 90s, we've created what we internally call a 4:3 stack. At the heart of the system are the MiSTer FPGA and a Sony Trinitron CRT, connected with SCART 🙌 🇪🇺 🙌 RGBs to enjoy those classic fat and bold scanlines.

A short trip to the Adriatic Coast
Late July was reserved for a trip to the beloved Adriatic coast. It's a place that feels like home to us, yet going there gets us excited every summer. As usual, it helped us relax, but this time around, we also refueled and got ready for the new Pudding website launch. The sun sparked some ideas for sure!

Hey! Thank you, Webflow.
Wow! This morning, we got notified that the Webflow team mentioned us on their Instagram profile. At first, we were a little confused, but then we realized that they featured our portfolio across all their social channels! Webflow is one of our studio's most loved and crucial tools, so this recognition means a lot to us. No words to express how thankful we are!

My,My,My is now more than 20 years old, so we decided to share it as a reminder of how simple yet well-crafted tunes had the power to move the entire planet. Also, album cover art is a masterpiece, just google it.
TextNow reached out to us with the idea of helping them brand their people and culture team under the name Allhands.
The kitchen section of our website is a great place to show projects like this one. TextNow reached out to us with the idea of helping them brand their People and Culture team under the name Allhands. The project was divided into three parts. The first was the visual identity, with a focus on the logo (other brand elements, such as color and typography, were taken from TextNow's master brand). The second was the development of the mascot, and the third was the implementation of everything for the Allhands Mexico offsite event.

TextNow's 12 days of deals 2017 - Christmas campaign.
"Twelve days of deals" is just one out of many campaigns done at TextNow. However, being a Holiday one, it is one of our favourites. At the same time, it was an opportunity to "play" in cinema4d and create New Year campaign assets.
Blast from the past
Take a look at a project we worked on 17 years ago. It's a product design concept that would let you travel through time, but we don't want to spoil too much.
MiSTerFPGA. We love it, and we made some illustrations inspired by it.
MiSTer FPGA is an opensource project that aims to preserve old consoles, arcades and personal computers: from the Super Nintendo to the Amiga and all the way to Yugoslavia's first computer Galaxy. Since there is a retro corner in our studio where this wonderful device is located (along with many other retro consoles and crts), we wanted to enhance it with prints of the illustrations we made.

Back to Brooklyn
We had an awesome vacation in New York. Considering that I (Nenad) lived in Brooklyn in 2011/12 while I was part of the HUGE team, vacationing in this city is more like returning home than a tourist visit. Favorite restaurants are still where they were, Clinton Hill is as beautiful as when I left it, and the Nikon F100 and plenty of 35mm Ektachrome films were always at hand. Here are some photos.
Thanks for sending your email to hello@pudding.studio. We have received it and will get back to you soon!

In 2008, almost every website had a "beta" tag next to its logo in the header and was inspired by the Web 2.0, Flickr-ish design language. If you wanted to prove yourself even further as a real player in the web game, you had to add a "hosted by mt" (Media Temple) badge in your footer.
It was a period of Flash to HTML/CSS transition, and I was a designer and a part of the core team at Saturized Studio. Saturized was the first serious and well-established digital design agency based in Novi Sad, Serbia. Mainly focused on Flash development, Saturized won several recognitions and awards (FWA was one of them) and attracted many international clients.
I have had the opportunity to work on projects for big names and agencies. Google, Toshiba, and 20th Century Fox are some names that reached out to Saturized for cooperation.
But this story is not about those projects; it is about internal ones that we, as a team, believed in.
In 2008, Facebook had already started dominating the social networking space. MySpace was fading out, Twitter was taking off to the stars, and Last.fm was there to show your favorite bands or discover the ones (a year or two later, Apple tried to steal Last.fm's crown with their Ping social media platform — you remember this one?)
My Saturized colleague and friend Goran had an idea and vision for a new social network platform. Zoran had a strategy, and I was there to put identity, user experience, and interface design together.
The social network was called Historide, which already implies its purpose — to ride through your personal history. The idea behind the platform was to create a safe space, similar to a vault, where you could add significant events from your life. The network would then serve as a time capsule for you to revisit these memories later. Of course, a social media component was present, which allowed you to share your events with others.
The platform encouraged users to create events based on memories, old photos, and diaries from before the Internet and social media.
Post Creation
As I browsed through my project folders and checked Historide's PSD files, I was blown away by how well-structured, defined, and developed this project was. Folder structures, layer organization, naming, UX prototypes made as animated GIFs, sprite PNGs, notes… damn! I have a feeling that would be a project for itself these days.
Tools like Figma and features like components, developer exports, or inspectors did not exist back then. We only had Adobe Photoshop CS3, and that was it!
Macromedia / Adobe Fireworks was an excellent tool for web design. It handled both bitmap and vector design well. Preparing, slicing, and exporting components was easier and faster, but for some (still unknown to me) reason, it never became a "default app" for designing web interfaces.
Adobe Photoshop CS3
Adobe introduced a wonderful feature in early Photoshop CS versions known as Layer Comps. This feature is still available in the latest versions and has been a real game-changer at the time. Layer Comps enabled us to have multiple states in the same PSD file, which was incredibly helpful. It allowed me to keep several pages and UI states in a single file. Moreover, I used layer comps as a versioning system to effortlessly navigate through revisions and make desired updates without creating and documenting numerous files.
Nowadays, design tools guide users on how to structure and prepare assets, making it unnecessary to overthink or explore additional options.
However, when we developed our GUI library for Historide, there were no available UX/UI guidelines or some proven and established rules and practices on the Internet. Each studio developed its design methodology.
Looking back at Historide's PSD file containing UI components, I believe we had a good design methodology because even though it is 15-ish years old, it looks and feels similar to today's standards.
Historide's GUI Library
Historide was an excellent product, but the reason it never gained popularity is quite evident. When we launched it, the Internet became easily accessible to everyone, and people didn't want to spend their time discussing the past. Instead, they preferred to share their present with others, and Facebook was the platform for that purpose.
Our time-traveling platform was online for a short period without making a significant impact. However, it made us stronger and more experienced as a studio. We tested our strengths and limits this way and proved that we could easily jump into similar projects for our clients in the future.
On a personal level, this project was a design goldmine for me. I learned a lot, and some of those lessons are still present in my workflow today. Additionally, Historide added much value to my personal portfolio, which I launched in 2011, and found its way to an incredible person who reached out to me. That's how I started working with HUGE INC.
…. and that's pretty much it. I would like to add that 2008 was a great — I could say a special year! Kanye's 808s & Heartbreak and Lil Wayne's Carter III were burning hot. "Emo music" slowly started transitioning from distorted guitars into distorted electronic music, later known as Dubstep, and I've put together my first Hackintosh based on Intel Q6600.
Kanye's "Amazing" from "808's & Heartbreak" is still my favorite Kanye song, and to be completely honest with you, Young Jeezy killed it on this track. 🫡
I want to tackle one more thing that somehow inspired me to put this story together. And that's Apple's Journal app. That app sneaked into my iPhone. I don't have an idea when and how. I guess one of the iOS updates introduced it. And guess what - I love it.
Journal really knows how to put together important life events for me by combining vital information found on my device. The app will combine a couple of nice photos and videos, including date and time, location, and people, and create a nice title for the post. I can provide more info or notes if I want, but even if I don't add extra details, the post/event still looks great!
This somehow reminded me of Historide, and I can see the Journal app as a one-stop place to explore my life from the past in the best possible way. And since I've used the word -life, somehow, I think there is an opportunity to bring the iLife brand back to life. Imagine merging the journal and the photo app into one — to me, that screams iLife.
PS. I hope the Journal app will find its way to desktops as well.
